Bows in your hair for a sixties look

Fashion designers love delving into the past for inspiration. For the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2013 show, the artistic director, none other than Marc Jacobs, took his inspiration from the 60s for a vibrant collection!

60s trends. For this new spring-summer season, retro is back as fashion focuses on the 60s. Revisit the trends of this era to work it like Twiggy! At Louis Vuitton, short skirts, swing dresses, checks and bright colours are back on the clothes rails for a Swinging London vibe. But 60s also means ultra-characteristic cuts with hair cut short or backcombed for extreme volume!

Swinging London hairstyle. For a sixties hairstyle, it all starts with backcombing! This will give your hair volume, add texture and make it easier to style. Backcomb your mid-lengths and ends, then create a chignon, which will be full of volume at the back. To accentuate the sixties feel of your hairstyle, go for a key hair accessory: the bow headband. A retro detail that makes all the difference. Opt for a headband rather than a simple hair jewel – you’re after a sixties style rather than a preppy look. Think fine materials, such as velvet, for a sophisticated result.
