Gel: your best friend when it comes to styling the no-parting ponytail
We’re loving this super on-trend style which is perfect for 2015. Try it once and we’re convinced you’ll add this look to your style repertoire.
The ponytail. This on-trend, timeless updo is perfect for every woman, no matter what your individual style. Whether you prefer yours low, high, loose or even retro, the ponytail works for all face shapes thanks to its simplicity, as well as being easy to create. For 2015, why not give the super-slicked effect a go to create a more sophisticated end result? This particular version was spotted on the Tod’s Autumn-Winter Fashion Week in Paris.
The wet-look effect. One of this season’s absolute must-haves, the wet look has taken its influence straight from the catwalk to the red carpet and even the high street! This dampened effect provides a glamorous edge, replicating mythological sirens appearing from the ocean with drenched locks. Why does this technique work so well, you ask? You can adapt how much gel you decide to use depending on your individual preferences.
Get the runway look. The key element to getting this look right is to avoid styling your hair with a parting. Gather your locks at the rear of the head using a brush and secure into a ponytail with a hair tie. Tighten slightly at the base and apply a small amount of gel over the front section of your style to add some shine. Allow your lengths to breathe naturally and simply spray all over with hairspray to complete the look.
