Curly hair: the retro ponytail
Oversized quiffs, statement chignons or va-va-voom volume…this summer, 60s hairstyles are a must! Discover how to wear the ponytail take on this trend, spotted at Paris Fashion Week.
The trend. This trend was spotted on the Georges Chakra Spring-Summer 2015 runway. Models were styled with long locks that were secured into a high ponytail. Roots were slightly slicked back to the scalp whilst lengths were curled. This style is all about the volume, meaning it was made for those of you with thick hair.
Who can wear the retro ponytail? Anybody who loves a retro look, but in particular those who are fans of all things 60s. Thanks to this style, you can create a chic and sophisticated look in minutes. It is perfect for all hair types and can be paired with a sports-luxe outfit or even something more casual and relaxed for an off-duty feel.
Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing hair with Nutrition and Shine Shampoo to get hair looking glossy. Next, dry and gather at the crown of your head using a brush. Secure with a hair tie and create your desired ponytail. You can then take your curling iron to get big, bouncy curls. Complete the look with a layer of hairspray for a long-lasting finish.
