Coloring your hair: how do I combine several colours?
In terms of hair color, are you trying to combine brown and blonde, get multi-tonal hair or do you want to have impressive locks? Discover our expert’s advice, who will give you her opinion on this type of coloring.
Jean Louis David doesn’t offer this kind of coloring technique. “None of our techniques allow us to obtain several colors (blonde, brown or red) on the same head of hair. Firstly because it’s limited and difficult to maintain, as each color requires specific treatment. Also, it’s complicated to recreate. A few weeks later, your hairdresser should rework it with the same color for each strand to get an identical effect. Also, it’s possible that the end result won’t look natural”.
However, several of Jean Louis David’s exclusive techniques give tone to your hair. “We still work from your base color. Subsequently, we can play with light and shade, lightening and luminous shine. The strands are therefore colored in a more or less intense way to create an optical illusion which still looks natural. Rely on the Sunlight technique which will also offer you maximum depth, on a 2-in-1 or on a Contrast”.
There are other tips if you want to combine more original colors. “The trend of multi-tonal hair has been all the rage for several seasons, whether it be rainbow hair, fluorescent hair or highlights. In this specific case, always opt for temporary hair dye which comes out gradually after washing. You will also find chalks in supermarkets which color your hair for the daytime or for one night”.
Our advice: Once you’ve colored your hair, maintain it with products from the Color Therapy range, which is dedicated to your hair type. Two to three times a week, wash your hair with Intense Color shampoo. You will preserve its vitality over time by prolonging your color’s shine.
