You’ve decided to go all out for the festive period this year, both in terms of your outfit and your make-up. So it’s time to put your everyday hairstyles aside in favour of original, sophisticated styles to add that finishing touch to your look.
Keep it chic with a twisted up-do.
At Valentino, hairstyles are strict but ultra-chic. We love this twisted style which evolves into a low chignon. Perfect for mid-length and long hair. Start by applying an anti-frizz serum
, and then straighten your hair thoroughly. Create a centre-parting
then take out two large pieces of hair from either side of your face. Twist them and pull them back. Secure it all in a low chignon.
Work the Mother Christmas look with a braided crown
. This braid will instantly bring out your angelic side, perfect for your Christmas celebrations. The braided crown is great for romanticising any look and makes us think of those traditional Christmas wreaths. You can even get your hands on ready-made braids to make your life much simpler! Blow-dry your hair so it’s soft and bouncy, create a centre-parting, and then fix with hairspray. Take your braid and place it towards the back of your head, so that it follows the shape of your head. Secure with hair pins at the back of your neck and leave your hair down to cover them up.
Work it retro-style with a curly bob
. The 20s, 40s and 50s are huge inspirations for style, when it comes to both fashion and beauty. So if you’ve taken your look down one of these routes, you need to do the same with your hair. This season, the curly bob is back. There are two ways of creating this. Insert small rollers into your damp hair and leave to dry. Remove the rollers and style your hair using your fingers. Preferably go for a side-parting. Or use small-barrelled curling tongs
. Once your hair is dry, wrap sections of hair around the tongs and release. Set with hairspray.
