Your go-to hairstyle for relaxing at the beach
Summer is well and truly here! You’re no doubt starting to prepare for your summer getaway this year or simply looking forward to basking on golden sands. Speaking of which, how are you planning on styling your hair for relaxing on the beach or chilling around the pool? Why not take inspiration from one of this season’s hottest trends. The wet-look will leave you looking stylish whilst also being a practical choice.
The trend. This look is a popular style for summer and is perfect for water-based activities this season. It takes direct inspiration from the texture your hair takes on when you step out of the sea and helps to re-create this effect, thanks to a strong hold styling product. On the Roland Mouret catwalk, the wet-look didn’t cover the whole of the models style, simply the roots and upper section, meaning you can avoid going overboard with an all-over effect.
Who can wear it? Anybody who is looking for a style that is simple to create and on-trend at the same time. Forget about spending hours in front of the mirror trying to re-create the Roland Mouret runway look. You can quickly style your locks into place with a simple gel and shine-enhancing spray. Get creative and use some ocean water to slick your hair back. Watch out, however, as your wet-look will lose its slick look in high temperatures.
How to create the wet-look. Before heading to the beach, style hair by parting to one side. Next, take a small amount of gel and heat between your palms before applying to the roots down to the mid-lengths. The gel will instantly give your hair some structure and should go against your side parting. Try copying the runway look and add some movement for a more relaxed vibe. And voila! Your go-to beach style this summer!
