Which glasses to wear with your hairstyle

As well as being extremely useful, today glasses are also about style. Not only do they improve your vision, they also boost your look. To make sure they suit you, adapt your glasses and hairstyles to suit the rest of your style!

To pick out a frame that matches your style, browse this season’s most trendy frames. “Once upon a time, frames were ultra-fine – barely frames at all. But today, the frame is most definitely back!” Choose a shape you like that goes with your style.

If you want your glasses to make you look intellectual, go for round frames. Only choose cat-eye frames if you’re after a retro look. For an arty style, opt for glasses with thick frames and wide arms. Finally, for a simple trendy or rock-chick look, pick oversize glasses, not too round, not too square.

As for colours, it’s generally best to keep things understated. “Go for black or dark colours. Especially if you wear glasses on a daily basis. Black also looks great with platinum blonde or white blonde for a striking contrast.” Another stylish colour is tortoiseshell, a mixture of brown shades.
Now that you’ve chosen your glasses, all you need to do is find the right hairstyle! For an intellectual look, short hair should be worn in a tomboy style, and long hair roughed up. “Cat-eye glasses should be worn with retro hairstyles, such as the French twist, loose and backcombed hair, or with an XXL quiff.” If you’ve chosen glasses with thick frames and wide arms, opt for a ponytail or low chignon. “When wearing glasses, avoid a fringe. Too much of your face will be hidden, which tends to have a shrinking effect.”
