What makeup looks best with a banana updo?

The Gianfranco Ferré runway featured a strong bohemian trend theme, which has been a key style this season.  As well as being a popular trend this summer, it’s a hairstyle that works well with winter looks too. But what makeup should you be wearing with a banana updo, which is the perfect style to top off this season’s bohemian look ?

Banana updo. This hairstyle has been considered a true classic ever since Audrey Hepburn wore it as her signature style, and today the banana updo is the modern woman’s best friend. Easy to create and adapt to your personal style, it’s a must-have look. It’s a fuss-free updo which is simple, yet effective.

What makeup? Stick to nude colours. In order to truly capture the bohemian vibe, stay clear of piling on the make-up. Your complexion should appear smooth and even. Only the eyes are emphasised in order to look as natural as possible. To do this, use a smoothing primer on your face, then apply a foundation that matches your skin tone. In terms of your eyes, a pink eyeshadow and mascara are enough to make your eyes pop. For evenings, go for a soft pencil to define your eyes. For lips, a moisturising balm helps protect them from the drying effects of the winter weather. And there you have it…a velvety smooth look without looking OTT.

Create the banana updo. To make sure your banana updo stays put through the day, try creating this style the day after you’ve washed your hair. Brush your hair and tie it up into  a mid-height ponytail at the back of the head. Then, clip sections up using a few bobby pins so that your hair starts taking on a banana-like shape. Spray your hair all over with a good hairspray to keep your style in place.
