The XXL visor; from the catwalk to the high street?
A lot of hair accessories tend to make a comeback in winter. We lose a lot of heat through our head, so we need to keep it under cover… and stay stylish! This winter, as well as felt hats and bandeau headbands, the XXL visor beret is making an appearance. Will this accessory make it from the catwalks to the high street? Let’s take a look.
Seen on the catwalks, the XXL visor beret. If we’re to trust the catwalks, these winter accessories are set to be the stars of the show. The face is relegated to second place for an “incognito” look. The beret, a symbol of French elegance, is revamped in velvet. The visor reaches down to the eyes to give this season’s look a “Gavroche” feel. An accessory that steals the show and puts you in the shadows.
What do we keep? The beret, obviously. However, choose one that enhances your hairstyles rather than hides them. Also go for a shorter visor to make sure you can see! The winter beret should be worn in dark tones, similar to those seen on the Ralph Lauren catwalk (above), but without hiding your face or eyes, unless of course, you’re a celebrity wishing to go unnoticed!
How to wear it. Hair down to give your look a feminine feel. Choose a version made using felt to keep things modern. Forget anything that covers your eyes. Feel free to play the mysterious Parisian about town!
