Summer hair: just-back-from-the-beach hair care

Sun, sea, sand… Words that make you think of holidays. But for your hair, these words can be a signal of distress. So make sure you protect it when you trot off on your jollies, especially when you get back from the beach or the pool. How can you keep your hair healthy all summer long?

Wash your hair. Where possible, rinse your air with clean water as soon as you get out of the sea or the pool in order to get rid of any salt, sand or chlorine. Simple but important! And at the end of the day, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. If you are swimming and sunbathing every day, also wash your hair every day. To avoid irritating your scalp, use frequent use pH-balanced shampoo and massage in gently.

Nourish your hair. After shampooing, treat your hair with nourishing and hydrating products. During the summer, your mid-lengths and ends tend to dry out. Choose a mask for dry hair and apply generously, especially in these areas, and leave in for ten minutes or so. This will deeply nourish your hair leaving it feeling nice and soft.

Restructure your hair. There’s no better way to regenerate your hair than to give it a little extra boost. Protect your hair and give it the treatment it deserves by applying a nourishing serum. This will deeply hydrate your hair, banish frizz, and leave it feeling soft and shiny. Apply all over wet hair for an extra-sleek effect and to small sections of dry hair for a touch of shine.

Style gently. Don’t even think about using a hair dryer or straighteners without applying a heat protector spray first! This will provide your hair with extra protection from the heat. Why not also use a conditioner or a dual-phase hydrating treatment to help untangle your hair after washing.

When you get back, get your hair cut. The holidays are over and it’s time to get back into the swing of things. But before filling your colleagues in on your holiday, make sure you get yourself to the salon, especially if you find you’ve come back with split ends. Because once your ends are damaged, the only thing for them is to go under the scissors!
