Streetstyle: the low-slung ponytail
Elegance and simplicity are the key words when it comes to tied-up hair, especially the low-slung ponytail. When created with a centre parting, it can add some much needed volume to your style.
Her hair. A low, everyday ponytail. The low-slung ponytail and braids are perfect for warm, summery days. Simple to create, this ponytail should rest at the base of the neck and is the perfect way to dress down a smart, chic outfit or statement make-up. Start by creating a centre parting on clean, washed hair. Next, gather your hair at the bottom of the neck. You could try pushing your hair back behind your ears for a chic look or leave over the tops for a more messy, boho vibe.
Her look. Boyish and modern. Our streetstyle pick today has opted for a look with oversized pieces. Her statement grey velour pants and the defining part of her outfit. On top she wears a black roll-neck sweater underneath a white blazer which adds a light feel to her overall style. Her pout and nails match perfectly in a deep red shade and a structured black handbag completes the look.
Tip of the day. Ideally, you should aim to create a low-slung ponytail just like our streetstyle wearer today. Rather than scraping your hair back, try backcombing the crown area which will give your hairstyle some body and an original twist.
