Ponytails for spring 2013

Ponytails are known to all generations and have been around for seasons. But that doesn’t mean that this timeless style can’t seek variations to adapt to the trends of the moment. Discover the ponytails you should be wearing in spring-summer 2013.

The straight ponytail. This is no doubt one of the biggest trends of spring-summer 2013. The ponytail is ultra-straight but can be worn in different ways. The first, which you all know and love, is the sleek, straight ponytail with a section of hair wrapped around the base to hide the hair band. It can also be worn to the side or secured low down, near the ends.

The braided ponytail. It’s the braid/ponytail of spring-summer 2013. Worn straight and tied at two points: the first at the base of the ponytail and the second at the end of the braid you create between the two.

The high ponytail. For an ultra-eighties style, wear your ponytail high, and when we say high, we mean high! To get your ponytail as high as possible, use a flat brush then pull your hair up to the top of your head and tie at the top. For an even more 80s effect, secure with a scrunchie.

The wavy ponytail. Worn fairly low and straight. Once the ponytail is in place, work on your lengths with curling tongs for a wavy effect. Wide-barrelled tongs are best for big waves.

The sixties ponytail. 60s fashion is making a major comeback. To look the part, revisit the trends of this decade. And that goes for your hairstyles too, especially the sixties ponytail. Keep it thick and wear it high.
