How to wear your hair to the side?

Spotted on the red carpet and on fashionistas, the side-swept trend is perfect for a hairstyle which is both glamorous and easy to do. Discover the art of wearing your hair to the side!

The principle of the side-swept style. An amazingly simple hairstyle, all you need to do is create a side-parting and put your hair to one side. Carelessly placed on one of your shoulders, your cascading hair will turn heads! For the best effect, your hair should be mid-length to long. But whether you have straight, curly or soft hair, it makes no difference; it is all about the style.

A question of style. In the 1940s and 1950s, this trend was largely seen on Hollywood actresses with shiny, crimped hair, giving an impression of volume and depth. Later on, side-swept hair became the hairstyle of choice for punks, with one side shaved and the rest put to the other side. Today, it is adopted by those who wish to have a retro and chic hairstyle, in the style of Erin Wasson.

Taking good care of your hair. This style can only work on hair which is well maintained, healthy and shiny. So it’s necessary to take care of your long hair. If you have fine hair, use volumising shampoos and treatments. And before styling, apply styling mousse to improve texture. If you have frizzy, thick and dry hair, care for your hair with shampoo and hydrating masks. As a final touch, spray a nutrition serum to bring some brightness to your hair.

How to style it. For a smooth result, use straighteners on dry hair. If you want a soft effect, use a round hairbrush while drying with a hair dryer. For a wavy effect, use a large barrel curling iron to create large and soft curls. Finally, for a retro touch, put in some waves by fixing three or four hair slides on the length of your hair and let it dry naturally (or with a hair dryer to save time).
