Hairstyles 2014: stay stylish on vacation
The summer vacation period is fast approaching, with the beach being the number 1 destination for holidaymakers. You’ve planned to take several different bikinis, have stocked up your make-up bag with waterproof formulas, but have you decided which styles to wear poolside this year? Discover which styles to create each day to stay on-trend whilst enjoying the sun, sea and sand.
Summer trends. You probably know them already! Wavy lengths, the ponytail and braids are styles that were made for the summer season. However, some of these looks are more suited to certain occasions. If you have full day ahead planned, opt for an up-do to keep your hair out of your face. Remember to give your style a bohemian feel to stay stylish, whatever you’re doing!
Making the right choice. Although there are several summer hairstyles to choose from, there is one that tops the rest: the braided crown. Whatever your hair length or texture, the braided crown looks beautiful with all hair types. Simple to create, this look gets bonus points thanks to its long-lasting hold whilst instantly opening up the wearer’s face. Outdoor activities are a cinch with this super-versatile hairstyle.
Start by creating a braid on the left side of your style. Our tip is to braid hair upwards instead of downwards, as you normally would. Repeat this process on the right hand side, so that you have one either side of your head. Once you have finished braiding, pull each one upwards over the head and secure to create the crown-effect. You can opt for one or two braids, depending on the thickness of your hair and desired end-result. Whatever your decision, your braids will allow you to relax in style this summer!
