Hairstyle of the week: side hair with a centre parting

Copy the styles spotted on the Christophe Lemaire Spring-Summer 2015 runway look and bring your regular side hair up to date with a touch of elegance. Pair with a center parting and twisted strand for a feminine feel.

Why we love it. Because this is a sophisticated style which instantly adds a chic and polished touch to your look. Both asymmetric and modern, it opens up the wearer’s face and is perfect for women with mid-length to long hair. In less than 10 minutes, you can create a style that works for almost any occasion. On the runway, the designer paired this hairstyle with natural make-up; black mascara helps to define the eyes whilst lips were covered in a light pink, glossy sheen. In terms of outfits, pieces were sophisticated, classic and in monochrome tones. The overall result was very modern and elegant.

Get the runway look. Apply a small amount of Nutrition and Shine precious oil from the Oil Therapy range to dry hair. This lightly fragranced hair oil will tame flyaways and add shine to your new style without weighing it down. Next, create a neat center parting, then focus on the side of your choice. Twist the lengths back up onto themselves, rolling upwards towards the face, pinning into place around the nape of the neck. Bring the rest of your locks round onto the opposite shoulder and allow to hang loose. Although the catwalk models were styled with straight lengths, you can adapt this look to suit your natural hair type, whether yours are curly, wavy of even frizzy.
