Hairstyle head-to-head: the wet-look half pony VS the bohemian half pony

Share
A timeless classic, variations on the half ponytail can be found in all shapes and sizes this summer. Feminine and romantic, this hairstyle can be adapted to match any trend and is most often worn wet-look or bohemian. Let's take these hairstyles head-to-head to help us pick one.

The wet-look half ponytail. This chic and original version of the half ponytail gives you an elegant, trendy look. Style your perfectly straightened hair into a side parting and apply styling wax to the section of hair that frames your face. The wax will set the shape and give the style a glossy, wet-look feel, one of summer 2013's big trends.

The bohemian half ponytail. Sophisticated and easy to create, the bohemian half ponytail is the hairstyle to go for if you're after an urban, girly style. To create it, start with a centre parting and take out two very fine sections of hair, preferably from the front. Pull them to the back of your head and secure loosely for that deliberately dishevelled feel.

Our verdict. While we like the chic and structured feel of the wet-look half ponytail, it's not something that can be worn every day. The bohemian half pony, however, is perfect for any occasion. It's suitable for various lengths of hair and looks ultra-feminine. A must-have hairstyle both for the office and your summer nights out.
