Hair care
4 signs your hair is healthy!
Discover the top four signs that your hair is radiant and in top condition. Want to find out if yours is up to scratch?
1. Hair is strong, soft and resistant. You must be able to de-tangle your locks without too much difficulty and without losing too much whilst brushing. This applies to shower-time, simply brushing out your hair and even when letting down your ponytail after a long day. Hair should instantly absorb any haircare product which is applied, preventing your style from becoming limp, dry or greasy.
2. Color is vibrant and shiny. Hair should appear radiant and catch the light. If you’ve recently colored your hair, your new shade should be uniform with added dimension thanks to some strategically placed highlights to brighten up your style.
3. Ends are hydrated and trimmed. Healthy hair starts with well looked-after ends. Don’t forget that this part of your style has the oldest, most fragile hair. If yours are dry with lots of split ends, these can rise up the hair shaft, causing damage where you ideally want to avoid it. Make sure you go for a trim every 3 months to prevent further damage and stay on top of split ends.
4. Scalp is healthy, relaxed and supple. You should be taking care of your scalp by massaging it regularly. What’s more, this area should feel soft and supple. To check your scalp is healthy, pinch in two different locations; once below the ear and once on top of the head which should not be painful. The scalp shouldn’t be itchy or flaky, as this could be a sign of dandruff.
