Who can wear the rockabilly quiff?
Long thought of as a style meant solely for rockers, the rockabilly quiff is back… and it’s being worn by fashionistas all over the place! A great way to add a feminine touch to this glam’rock hairstyle. Here’s a look at one of this season’s hottest styles.
Who can wear the rockabilly quiff? By no means just for rock lovers, today this ‘do is being seen on some of the most stylish heads around. Those who love pin-up or girly styles can wear this hairstyle to add a hip, urban twist to their looks. However, the rockabilly quiff should be avoided on rock-inspired hairstyles. You don’t want to look like you’re trying to hard to pull off the rebel look!
How to create it. Whatever the length of your hair, the most important thing is not to cut your fringe too short. Otherwise you won’t be able to create the volume you’re after in your quiff.
Take a section of hair from the front, however thick or thin you like. Pin this section to one side while you work the hair at the back into a ponytail. Pull your hair back into a high ponytail and use straighteners to create a neat, glamorous effect.
Once you’ve created your ponytail, unpin the front section. Twist around one of your fingers, as if round a roller, keeping as much volume as you can. Secure the quiff with hair grips, being careful not to flatten it. This volume will offer a nice contrast with your sleek and straight ponytail. Spray hairspray across the whole style to keep it in place.
