What make-up to wear with a short fringe

The long, blunt fringe tends to make a comeback in winter. But this season the short fringe is continuing its rise up the ranks and is proving to be one of the most sought after fringes around. Here’s how to top it off with the right make-up.

The short fringe trend. A perfect way to show off your face, the short fringe is a big hit with women looking for a well-defined hairstyle to go with a well-defined look. Nothing is left to chance when it comes to style. That’s why make-up needs to be just as well defined and original as the hairstyle.

What make-up? With the short fringe there aren’t many restrictions when it comes to make-up. With the mischievous effect it offers, anything goes ! Whether you choose to bring out your eyes, like a 60s icon, as seen on the Salvatore Ferragamo catwalk (photo above), or you opt for bright red lips, the choice is yours. The only rule? Never combine the two. This is one of the golden rules of make-up: always choose between eye make-up and lipstick, never both if you’re going bold.

The short fringe tends to be a great way to accentuate your eyes. Go all out to bring them out! This season, it’s all about eyeliner. Like a modern-day Twiggy, draw a thick line over your eyelid to enhance your look. Your complexion and lips should be left nude. The contrast between the two makes for the most elegant of beauty looks.
