Thick hair: 5 tips for taming your locks
Hair which is both thick and voluminous is often the envy of many. However, for you, it is often a real hassle. Here are 5 ways to avoid bad hair days with your thick locks!
1. Reduce the volume of your cut
You cannot beat a few clever snips of the scissors to tame the volume of your hair and make styling easier in the mornings! Avoid a blunt cut which will accentuate the volume of your locks. Instead, opt for layers or thinned-out lengths or tips to add a touch of lightness to your hairstyle.
2. Nourish the hair fibre to soften it
To relax your unruly locks and combat frizz, opt for a leave-in treatment such as Jean Louis David’s Nutri Serum which deeply hydrates the hair fibre all throughout the day.
3. Opt for the right drying technique
Hair blow-dried using a hair dryer set to a high temperature tends to pump up the volume. So after washing your locks, is it best to dab them in a microfibre towel or cotton t-shirt to absorb almost all of the water encased in the hair fibre. That way you can then blow-dry your locks on a low temperature. Clever!
4. Sleep with your hair up
Stop sleeping with your hair loose, which can easily tangle your locks and make them static after they have rubbed on the pillow. Instead, simply put all of your hair into one braid and that’s all there is to it! That way you can say goodbye to untameable volume and unruly locks when you wake up.
5. Straighten your locks to tame them
This beauty tip saves you from uncontrollable volume. After straightening, your thick hair will be much easier to live with… Promise!
