Scrunchies spotted on the catwalks. The scrunchie was a major hit on the Ashish catwalk recently. Similar to a statement necklace or oversized handbag, the scrunchie style is set to be big news this season. To focus everybody’s attention on the scrunchie, hairstyles were worn in high top-knots or high ponytails for maximum impact. The runway saw models wearing their scrunchies with messy, dishevelled hairstyles. Loose strands of hair framed the face whilst chignons were sloppy and far from being neat.
 
How to wear this style day-to-day. Keep your hairstyle fairly messy and de-structured for this look, as it takes direct inspiration from the bohemian trend. If you’re rushing about in the morning or want to try a high chignon, this is the perfect trend for you. However, leave the scrunchie to the die-hard 80s fans, Cindy Lauper types and little girls in kindergarten. In fact, we’re banning you from wearing the scrunchie, which will ruin the classy, relaxed look of your hairstyle. Let’s face it…the 80s disco vibe and bohemian chic were never going to work together for us mere mortals!
 
How to create the look. The high top-knot is quite easy to create. All you need to do now is decide how to wear it: messy, similar to the models on the Ashish catwalk, or in an elegant bun shape, created using a doughnut? Each one works well for different times of the day. The chic bun looks great paired with workwear, whereas the messy boho-chic version is perfect for laid-back weekends.
