The Pros: Mix things up with a style-changing wig
If you’re tempted to try out a completely different style, have you ever considered wearing a wig? This is the ideal solution for being bold and daring without the commitment of a permanent hairstyle change. Our expert gives their top tips for wearing your wig the right way this season!
If you’re going to give the wig a go, you need to conceal all of your own hair completely. ‘You’ll need to secure your locks into a low chignon with bobby pins to keep everything out of sight. Ideally, short hair is the best length when wearing a wig. Wigs were fairly common during the 70s and have been making a comeback over the last couple of seasons’.
The wig can be used through the day as well as for evening occasions. ‘This is the best technique to transform your look completely, and is frequently used on the catwalks. However, it can be difficult to wear all day long. Opt for a wig made with natural human hair for a seamless finish. You can, of course, choose a statement wig for a much more noticeable result which will change your complete look entirely!’
Our advice: before styling your wig, protect your hair with a silk scarf. Thanks to this handy tip, you can avoid itching and any scratchiness created by the wig, as well as preventing greasiness.
