Spotted on the catwalk, the fountain

The fountain is proving to be a huge hit on catwalks this season. This hairstyle, which you’ll remember from your junior school days, is making a comeback. The fountain is easy to create and is a great way to give your day-to-day styles a spontaneous feel.

As you’d expect, this hairstyle is seen worn on the top of the head, and is created in one slapdash movement for a dishevelled effect. Start by backcombing the front of your hair, then gather it all at on top of your head. Tie into a ponytail, leaving a few pieces out. Faithful to the childhood version of the hairstyle, the 2013-2014 edition of the fountain offers hints of a modern, feminine schoolgirl.

Tempted by the fountain? Remember you’ll need mid-length or long hair to be able to tie it up at the top of your head.
