Sleek, straight hair

For sleek straight hair that doesn’t involve Brazilian straightening, your round brush and hairdryer sometimes just aren’t quite enough. Especially  if you have curly or wavy hair. If you want your dream to become a reality, follow our advice from the pros for ultra-straight hair.

You don’t need to have washed your hair that day, but make sure your hair is completely dry before you use your straighteners, the tool that’s about to come to your rescue! Using them on wet hair can damage your lovely locks. “Dry your hair before using your straighteners. For an extra boost, use a heat-protector straightening spray. This will act as a barrier against the heat of your straighteners. For maximum effectiveness, spray the product onto your hair section by section and comb through.

Now moving on to straightening your hair. Plug in your straighteners and wait for them to reach the right temperature. Work on your hair section by section. “Slide a piece of hair into the straighteners starting at the roots, then close the straighteners and slide down to the ends. Don’t leave them on your hair for too long at a time, you don’t want to damage your hair. Once over should be enough if you do it right!” Repeat across the rest of your hair, don’t forget the back of your head.

Once your hair is perfectly straight, you’re going to want to make sure it lasts. “Spray fixing spray onto a brush or comb and style your hair as normal. This will help you get a nice and natural result. If you like you can also add an extra layer of hairspray over the finished style, holding the can away from the hair to stop it from going solid.”

Our tip: Throughout the day, rain, humidity and perspiration can ruin your perfectly straight hair… To make sure you’re prepared for every eventuality, invest in a mini pair of straighteners that you can carry around with you in your handbag or keep at the office for a quick touch-up!
