Our hair resolutions for 2017
It’s decided. This year, you are going to take care of your hair! Here are 6 resolutions so that you can achieve your goal.
1. Protect your hair from heat
Straighteners, curling tongs, or a hairdryer in one hand and a brush in the other… wait, you didn’t forget the thermo-active serum, did you ? This treatment acts as an excellent shield against heat, as long as it is applied evenly (to wrung-out or dry hair). When in contact with a heated appliance, the product’s active ingredients react and protect the hair fibre.
2. Reduce how often you blow-dry your locks
Again, to protect your locks from the heat , reduce how often you use your hairdryer (or curling tongs)! This will give your hair a break from the heat. Excessive heat exposure can result in lacklustre, weak hair that will break easily… Instead, opt for a natural, wavy effect, which you can create by using a saltwater spray or by doing a braid in your hair the night before.
3. Regularly get the ends trimmed
It seems paradoxical but so that your hair grows well it must be trimmed. Getting 2-3cm cut off every 4 months prevents split ends from forming, which can weaken the hair fibre and slow down growth.
4. Massage your scalp
Besides making you feel relaxed, massaging your head helps supply oxygen to the scalp. The result: your locks are fortified and your hair’s shine is boosted. How do you do it? With small circular movements, pressing lightly.
5. Wear a scarf underneath your motorbike helmet
Are you used to riding on two wheels ? Add a layer of protection between your helmet and hair – a scarf, a specialised balaclava – you have carte blanche. This will help to stop your hair from rubbing on the inside of your helmet, which can make your locks greasier and more sensitised. If your hair sticks out of your helmet, tuck it into your collar to protect it from the cold, which can dry out your hair and damage the hair fibre.
6. Protect your hair from the sun
As soon as the sun comes out, opt for oil hair treatments or SPF gels as a nourishing solution and for UV protection.
Have a great year everyone!
