Make-up for cool brown locks
Cool brown hair tones are the must-have hair color for autumn-winter this year. Thinking about changing your shade, or already been to the salon to get your new look? You now need to start thinking about which make-up trends will best accompany your new style. Make sure your make-up compliments your cool-brown shade with our expert advice.
Layer up on lip and eyeliner to perfect your cool brown shade. Runway models were all sporting dark, almost gothic, make-up on the Aschich catwalk. Lips were heavily lined in dark brown whilst the eyes were also emphasized thanks to layers of eye liner. This trend is ideal for winter, however be careful not to go overboard. Dark lips look divine, as long as they are paired with simple eyes and a dewy complexion. Pale, ghostly foundations are a big no-no when wearing darker lipstick.
Opt for a natural complexion to boost your new color. Just because your hair is darker than its usual shade, doesn’t mean you are required to wear darker make-up. Natural, pared-back complexions are also a big trend for winter. What better way to allow your glossy hair to do all the talking? Opt for a transparent lip gloss and a few coats of mascara. In terms of foundation, a simple sweep of bronzer is all you need to perfect your barely-there look. Sometimes, less is certainly more!
How to get this season’s hottest hair color. At the Jean Louis David salons, we’re all about cool brown tones this season. Your stylist will work around your base color and will add subtle highlights and lowlights using foils around the sides of your style. This new technique is called Dot Light. The concept behind this new application method is to create lighter areas around your face which wouldn’t normally catch the light, one or two shades lighter than your natural color. Your hair will reflect light more effectively and your complexion will instantly appear brighter. Head to your nearest Jean Louis David salon to book your appointment for radiant locks!
