Ponytail

Hairstyle trend: the ultra-sleek poker-straight ponytail

Sophisticated and easy to wear, this ponytail created in sleek straight locks is a mainstay on the catwalk. Do you want to recreate the look at home? Follow our advice from the professionals to successfully create this impeccable poker-straight look!

1. Prep your locks

Perfect straightening starts at the washing stage, with a shampoo and hair mask with smoothing powers. The products from the Liss Therapy range coat your locks and make them more flexible, for easier styling. After rinsing and squeezing out your locks, apply a special thermo-active styling product such as Jean Louis David’s Brush Cream. This helps protect your hair from the heat given off by heated stylers, and will give your hairstyle better hold.

2. Blow-dry from the roots downwards

To show off impeccably straightened locks, first style them using a round brush and a hairdryer to straighten them and reduce the volume. To do this, place the brush as close to your roots as possible and focus the hairdryer’s warm blast on that area to flatten the roots. Then brush your locks down to the tips, keeping them taut as you go, to straighten them. To better grasp the hair at the roots you can use a comb instead of a brush with the same technique.

3. Straighten your locks with straighteners

Then go over each section, one by one, using straighteners to create a poker-straight look and spritz on hairspray to finish.

4. Create the up-do

Lastly, use a comb to gather your locks towards the back at the nape of your neck to form the ponytail with a hairband and that’s all there is to it!
