Hair resolutions for 2014

Each year the same thing happens…you make new year’s resolutions that don’t even last a month. This year, things are going to be different! In fact, the following hair resolutions are so easy to achieve that we bet you’ll be able to stick to them all year long. Lets’ take a look at 2014’s hair resolutions.

Make regular hair appointments to trim your ends. ‘It’s well known that cutting your hair regularly keeps it in better condition. Fine hair especially needs to be trimmed regularly to prevent split ends which can damage hair, as damaged ends give off the impression that your hair has stopped growing. Well-groomed ends really allow your hair to shine  and keeps your hair in good condition.’

Use a heat-protection spray. ‘Heated styling tools which you use on a daily basis to straighten or curl your hair aren’t the only thing damaging your hair. External factors such as the cold, wind and even wearing a scarf can weaken your hair, which is why it’s extremely important to use a heat-defence product on a daily basis, suited to your hair.’

Vary the shampoo you use. ‘ It’s normal to have a favourite shampoo. You think it smells great and it works just as well on your hair type. But, it’s important to vary your shampoo every 2 washes so that the ingredients still have an effect on your hair. Try having two shampoos in your bathroom: one for your hair type (e.g. straight, curly), and one for the condition (e.g. dry, greasy)’.

Massage your scalp. ‘Be it in the shower, or at night whilst watching TV, you need to massage your scalp regularly to maintain strong, shiny locks. The effect will be instant and you will notice a difference in the quality of your hair. Hairstyles will be easier to create too!

Our tip : Brush your hair twice a day to eliminate impurities and dirt. This also softens the hair shaft. One thing’s for sure, 2014 is going to be an exciting year for your hair!
