Virginie, 22: “Maximum volume for maximum impact!”

Your look? Ultra-feminine! I rarely wear trousers or jeans. For me, nothing is more stylish and sophisticated than a dress or skirt coupled with a pair of high heels. I owe my love of feminine clothes to my mum who was always very well dressed, with full make-up and styled hair. I always choose each new item of clothing with care and I like natural fabrics, clean lines and well-tailored pieces. On the make-up side, I’m a big fan of red lipstick as it stands out in contrast with my pale skin.

Your hairstyle? I lean more towards dressed-up and feminine hairstyles. It follows that I’m a big fan of up-dos – I like them to be really neat with perfectly smooth hair. Having long hair allows me to vary my style and try out different up-dos. It could be a ballet bun, high pony-tail or even the addition of accessories; I adapt my hair-do to match my outfit each day.

Your look today? To build on the potential of the classic bun, I’ve added a bit of volume to my hair by back-combing it before I put it up. Here, I separated my hair in two, one section at the back and then a narrower section at the front. I created a centre-parting through the front section using a comb to make it a bit more interesting. Using the comb again I then back-combed the rest of my hair. Once I’d achieved the right level of volume, I gathered my hair back into a bun and fastened it with hair pins, not forgetting a final application of hairspray to keep the style in place for as long as possible!
