The turban set to replace the beanie this winter?
Without going overboard and copying the recent Undercover runway looks from head to toe (models were styled in mismatched items), you can however take some inspiration from the headwear spotted. The catwalk swapped beanies for turbans this year, which are often generally worn for summer festivals. Is this turban set to replace the beanie as winter’s must-have hat? Let’s find out.
The trends. Long gone are the days when turbans were only worn by eccentric personalities or women during the 20s era. For 2014, the turban is being paired with the down jacket, making it ideal for a vacation on the slopes. The classic beanie hat has officially lost out on the top spot this winter, in favour of the more elegant and easy-to-wear turban.
Who can wear the turban? The turban is also extremely practical for busy days out around town. In fact, you can wave goodbye to bad hair days thanks to this forgiving accessory. The turban enables minimal styling, meaning you can throw your lengths into a neat chignon and tuck it away out of sight.
Get the runway look. Combat the gloomy days of winter and opt for a bright, colorful turban accessory. This unique hat will protect your head and ears from the cold thanks to its shape. Pulling your turban down over your ears will keep both your head and face warm, making this new look a winner. Combine your bold-colored turban with a fairly neutral outfit whilst accessorising with a beaded necklace or drop-style earrings. This will instantly update your look and add a sophisticated feel. The turban is the ideal hair accessory as it allows the scalp and root area to breathe, meaning greasy roots are a thing of the past!
