The tiara, an accessory fit for a princess
Your childhood dreams can finally become a reality … And you don’t need to have found prince charming either … Yes, you can finally wear that tiara fit for a princess! A perfect royal accessory for your hair and a trend to be reckoned with this summer.
A royal trend. Not a princess or a queen? No problem. Even though this hair accessory has royal connotations, you still have the right to wear it. The only condition is that you wear it right! Because the tiara isn’t really the most discreet of hair accessories. Nevertheless it has the potential to highlight your good features and brighten up your face in the same way that it does for models, singers and actresses alike.
Which tiara? There are a few different styles of tiara. The “true” tiara is over-sized, gold or silver, and mounted with beads or pearls. This is a sparkling piece: choose it if you want a true crown jewel. If you are looking for something more low-key, you could opt for the mini tiara, which still has some ornamentation, but is more like a head band.
The tiara for up-dos or short hair. For a sophisticated look, tie your hair back and proudly show off your tiara. In this case a bun is preferable. For a severe hair style, go for a low or braided ballet bun. For a simpler look, try a messy bun. If you have short hair, an up-do is out of the question, but consider flattening your hair back (using a styling product such as wax or gel) to keep all the attention on your head piece. Place the tiara in the middle of your head.
The tiara on loose hair. For a more bohemian, but none-the-less chic, look, leave your hair loose, either straight or wavy, and choose a sparkling headband. This will be easier to wear as it’s more delicate! As with the over-sized version, don’t place it too near your forehead. Instead, place it halfway back on your head, in line with your ears.
