Spotted on the catwalks: the cowboy hat
Who said cowboy hats were just for country girls? Moschino used it as his key accessory on the catwalks for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, inspiring a resolutely retro look.
Hats are first and foremost worn as a means of protection from the sun. But its power of fashion must not be underestimated. This summer, wide-brim, straw hats can be seen on heads left, right and centre, so don’t be afraid to flaunt the cowboy version. The more character and the more exaggerated the brim, the better!
The cowboy hat can be worn on loose hair, long and straight or mid-length and curly, it doesn’t matter! Accessorise with jewels to add an extra touch of femininity. As far as colours go, avoid pastels or fluorescents, as these shades can look tacky and childish. Play it safe with classic colours.
