American designer Donna Karan showcased an ultra-elegant collection for this A/W 2012-2013 with a style based on a fusion of masculine and feminine trends. Her catwalk models seem to morph between the two, half masculine, half feminine, but always chic. The small detail that makes all the difference? The way it’s worn. This very masculine hat becomes uber feminine when worn tilted to the side.
 
This retro headwear is reminiscent of the fedora hats worn by the gangsters of the 1940s, only smaller and worn to the side to give the ladies that mysterious femme fatale look.
 
As for the hairstyle, originality is key with a side twisted chignon. Or, for something more simple, go for a ballerina bun or low side ponytail.
