Runway to reality: the dragonfly hair slide
Spring is synonymous with beautiful and interesting hair accessories. In fact, rather than getting a new haircut, many women prefer to invest in some cool, quirky accessories that are maybe a tad more unusual than ones you might spot in winter. Want to jump on the accessory bandwagon? You’re just in time, as the dragonfly hair slide is this season’s must-have accessory.
The dragonfly hair slide spotted on the catwalk. Jenny Packham sent her runway models down the catwalk with hair accessorized using dragonfly hair slides. For this designer, springtime 2014 calls for statement curls and vintage hair accessories. This spring-summer hair trend allows women to reveal two sides to their personalities; confident woman and young innocent child. The statement curls will grab everybody’s attention and add a feminine touch to her look, whilst the dragonfly hair slide shows that she doesn’t take herself too seriously.
From runway to reality. There’s no reason you can’t wear this whole look as an everyday hairstyle. There’s nothing like pairing romantic hair with a child-like accessory, without looking like you just stepped out of kindergarten. Here, the dragonfly hair slide shows the fun side of your personality. Can’t find a dragonfly hair slide? Don’t panic. The design isn’t crucial, as long as it is bold, colorful and fun, you’re on the right lines.
How to wear the dragonfly slide. At the Jenny Packham runway show, models wore their dragonfly slides at the very front of big bouncy curls. This helped to keep the front section of hair away from the face and out of the models’ eyes. If you don’t fancy wearing you hair in curls, try wearing your slide with straight hair, which works equally as well. Similarly, the hair slide works with all different hairstyles and cuts, as long as your slide is the focal point of your style and is in the front section of your hair.
