Runway to reality: the crimped chignon?
Want a style that’s simple and original? Discover a chic way to wear crimped hair this season, recently spotted on the Venexiana Spring-Summer 2015 runway at New York Fashion Week.
The trend. On the runway, models wore low chignons which were slightly off-centered and relaxed to maximize volume. Hair was smooth, glossy and super-shiny. Yet the crowning glory were crimped sections around the face. This extra touch instantly lifts this classic style and adds personality.
How to wear the crimped chignon. This chignon is extremely elegant. Make like the runway models and pair yours with a sophisticated outfit and statement make-up look. Wear for a special occasion when you want to stand out from the crowd whilst remaining distinguished. In fact, by updating this classic, you certainly won’t go unnoticed.
Get the runway look. Start by washing hair with Hydration and Suppleness shampoo from the Oil Therapy range. Your aim should be to maximize shine! Dry and de-tangle carefully, then isolate the upper section of your head, applying a heat-protective spray before using your crimping iron. Next, neatly part your hair to one side. Gather your lengths at the nape of the neck and secure into a low chignon. Finally, spray with hairspray for a long-lasting hold.
