Runway to reality: Preen’s hidden braid look

Update your look with this simple, yet modern, hairstyle, courtesy of Preen. The look was spotted on the designer’s Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 runway show at London Fashion Week. This winter, make sure your hair is super natural and effortlessly chic.

The trend. A faux-ponytail that is actually replaced by a braid. Tucked away, small in width and fairly relaxed, your plait should blend into the rest of your loose style seamlessly. This version of the braid should stop just before the roots so that your lengths mix together perfectly. Its hidden advantage? This look instantly creates intrigue when spotted from the rear.

Who can wear the hidden braid? Add a touch of bohemian-chic to your look, no matter what your individual style. This look is great for work, evenings out with friends or even shopping trips on weekends. The hidden braid is ideal for every occasion and is elegant whilst being oh-so simple to style. However, you’ll need shoulder length hair to nail the look.

Get the runway look. Wash your locks with Oil Therapy to add shine whilst deeply hydrating your hair. Next, detangle and dry with your hairdryer. Take two large sections from the front and combine with a section at the rear, braiding loosely downwards. Your plait should end around the mid-lengths to make sure it can be hidden. Secure with a hair elastic and you’re done! What could be simpler?
