How to style your short hair at the beach

Even at the water’s edge, you want to look fabulous. Take a look at the following three hairstyles which are suited to your short haircut.

A short haircut can be anything from a boyish tomboy pixie crop to a bob which comes down to your chin. It’s a difference in length which can increase the amount of styling ideas for your short haircut.

Accessories for a pixie crop

Is your hair less than 5 cm in length? To style your haircut, use a scarf, a headband or a bandeau – you have carte blanche. Amongst the most popular summer styles is the essential printed cashmere bandana. Forgotten since the 90s, this is the style you should try out. To accessorise your locks, fold the fabric to form a relatively wide bandeau. Place it at the nape of your neck, then tie it at the top of your head or on the side in a pure 1950s style.

Twists for longer locks

Two strands twisted together on either side of the head: a simple yet classic hairstyle. With your fringe or plunging haircut, you can achieve this hairstyle without a problem. To create this look, first mark out a middle parting. Separate out a relatively large strand on the side of your choice. Divide it into two and then twist the two strands together down to the tips. Pull it towards the back before fixing it with flat hair pins. All you need to do now is repeat this on the other side.

In a similar style, consider giving easy-to-create mini sleek braids a go.

If you have a bob, opt for a half-bun

A new look this season, this mix between a half-ponytail and a chignon is compatible with a short haircut. Start by separating out a section, like you would for a high half-ponytail. Flatten it down towards the back and twist it to obtain a mini chignon. If your hair is too short, fix it with flat hair pins. And why not place a pretty flower in your bun as a finishing touch?
