How to repair damaged hair

Dry hair with split ends and brittle lengths… Your hair is damaged. But don’t fret, there are ways to repair it and give it a new lease of life.

If your hair is really damaged, there’s only one solution: visit your hairdresser. “Your hairdresser will have all the products you need to fix this problem that you don’t have at home. Ask him or her for advice on how to continue looking after your hair at home. He or she will know which products to recommend and how best to use them.”

Stop washing your hair every day. “Way too many women wash their hair on a daily basis. This is far too often: Wash it 2-3 times a week, no more. Use keratin-based products to nourish your hair intensely and restore its shine. And use masks designed for your hair type. Avoid your roots when applying these sorts of treatments as they tend to weigh down the hair. What’s more, roots are rarely damaged. Concentrate on the mid-lengths and ends.”

If you have split ends, all you can do is chop them off. “Split ends cannot be treated. Once upon a time we used to burn split ends, but nowadays, head to your hairdresser to get rid of them then you’re all set!”
