How to have beautiful looking hair on your ID card

Keeping your hair out of your face, not covering up your ears… With all of these rules and regulations, it can be hard to look your best on your identity card photo. Here are some tips on how to have a knockout hairstyle in the photo booth!

Opt for a cunning up-do…

Forget overly austere slicked-back ponytails and buns. They tend to make your hair look overly fine and can make your facial features look harsher and tired in the photo. Instead, opt for up-dos which preserve the volume of your hair at the roots, those worn to one side or even a pretty plait tumbling down one shoulder.

… or control your hair’s volume

If you have thick, dense hair, tame your locks beautifully, or else your overly voluminous do will be too invasive and cover the obligatory light background in the shot. Conversely, if you have ultra-fine hair, boost its volume to avoid having hair that appears excessively flat.

Coloured hair: touch up the roots

Visible roots go almost unnoticed when you look in the mirror, however, this is not the case in a photo which accentuates contrasts. For this, a visit to the salon is a must.

Avoid styling products!

They leave small particles in your hair which risk being visible in the shot (just like dry shampoo). As a result, use fixing products sparingly. Also, be careful of the wet look or matt effects which can give the impression of greasy or brittle locks in the photo.

Good to know: Fringes and front sections should be kept out of your face. Therefore, it is a good idea to style them before your trip to the photo booth to have beautiful looking hair in the photo!
