How do I blow-dry my hair and preserve its volume?

You love to have straightened hair but on one condition: you can keep the volume you love so much at the roots! Discover the best technique to adopt to avoid having ‘poker straight’ hair.

Always prepare your hair

Styling products are essential for blow-drying and creating volume. They will texturize your hair fibre and give it maximum hold. In this specific case, mousse is ideal as it is used for sculpting and you don’t need much product. It must be light and not bind the hair together, like Design Mousse. Another solution: apply Design Spray. It also adds volume and supports the roots. As for treatments, you cannot beat the products from the Volume Therapy range for coating the hair and maximising its depth.

Expert advice. If you wish to preserve your hair’s volume, avoid applying hair masks to your roots so as not to make them heavy.

Work strand by strand

Above all, take your time. Focus on fine sections of hair. Unstick them at the top to add maximum volume. To do that, use an average sized brush to help you. You should get the feeling that your roots are held by your tool and you are exerting light resistance. Heat it up with a hair-dryer, then create movement upwards which will instantly shape your hair. The heat emitted by your device will fix the shape you have created.

Expert advice. To ensure your hairstyle has flawless hold, apply Fix Spray to your roots, as soon as you straighten a strand of hair.
