Masks are THE essential treatment for deeply repairing the hair fibre. Find out on the best way to use them in order to maximise their effectiveness!
Work strand by strand to spread out your mask evenly. Take the required amount of product and apply it midway down and on the tips. Then help your treatment soak in by smoothing out the hair fibre with your fingers. Avoid applying it to your roots as it risks weighing them down. Furthermore, your roots rarely need a mask treatment as in that area there is 'young hair' which is generally in good condition. Let your treatment take effect for between 3 and 10 minutes, before rinsing out thoroughly with clean water.
Professional trick: On highly sensitised hair, apply your mask from the tips towards the roots. You will therefore help the product soak in underneath cuticles which have become unstuck, filling them in. You can also let your mask work for longer, between 10 to 15 minutes.
It will all depend on the sensitivity of your hair. If your hair is dry or weakened, apply a mask after every time you shampoo it. Also, take the texture of your hair into account. Avoid repetitively applying masks on very fine hair. However, masks are particularly recommended for curly or frizzy hair. After each application and after drying your hair, you will immediately notice the effectiveness of your treatment. It is down to you to adjust how often you use the product according to your needs.
Above all, before applying your mask, make sure you shampoo your hair well. In fact, this treatment should only be applied on clean hair. Furthermore, always wring out your hair with your hands or using a towel before spreading out the product. On hair which is too damp, the product will have a tendency to become diluted and therefore won't work as effectively on the hair.
Professional trick: Shampoo and masks are essential for a good hair regime. By combining them, there is no need for conditioner or an oil bath.
