A step-by-step guide to using hair rollers
Step 1: Opt for Velcro-style rollers as these do not require pins and are much simpler to use and place in your hair. Before using your rollers, make sure your have combed throughout your hair to eliminate any tangles. You should use rollers with damp hair for maximum results, as this will enable your curl shape to take hold and set properly. Next, separate your hair into several different sections, depending on the thickness of your desired curl.
Step 2: Place the ends of your hair into the inside part of your roller, then roll upwards to your roots from the ends. Make sure your ends are neatly tucked away into the inner barrel of your roller, as this will keep your roller nice and sturdy. Only want to curl your mid-lengths? Simply focus your rollers on this area.
Step 3: Slowly blow-dry your rollers to activate your curl shape and set each one into place. This will take some time, however the technique guarantees a long-lasting hold.
Step 4: If you don’t have the time to blow-dry your damp hair into their roller shape, don’t worry. Instead of washing your hair, simply spritz with a curl-enhancing product, or run a small amount of mousse throughout, then dry with your hairdryer. In just 10-15 minutes, you can unravel your rollers to reveal bouncy curls. Remember that the latter technique will not create as long of a hold compared to starting with dampened hair.
