You don’t need two weeks in the Caribbean to get just-back-from-the-beach hair. At Jean Louis David we have a technique that is well-known to brunettes: Sunlight. Discover it now to get lighter, radiant hair
Jean Louis David recommends this colour technique for dark bases who’d rather avoid the Contrast service
, which is designed for light and medium bases. The Sunlight Technique
, which, like Contrast, involves gently lightening certain sections of your hair, gives a boost to uniform-coloured hair.
“This technique was created for brunettes wanting a lighter colour without having to totally change their base colour. It’s simply another version of Contrast. Blondes can also use it if they’re after copper tones, for example.”
This technique focuses mainly on the edges and ends for a bright and radiant effect. The result: only a few sections are lightened, just as the sun would do naturally. “Your hair is also left glowing with subtle highlights that blend naturally with your original colour.”
Note that the lightening process is permanent but the highlights fade through washing. Sunlight therefore lasts for around 6 weeks. After this time, return to your hairdresser to revive the highlights. “For the lightening treatment, one visit every 3 or 4 months should suffice.” Our tip:
To look after your Sunlight at home, use products for coloured hair
in order to help maintain the highlights for as long as possible. But alternate as your hair type requires. For example, if it is dry, curly or fine.
