A closer look at statement faux-brows

You’ve already heard about the trend for dyeing eyebrows the same shade as your hair. However, we’re betting you haven’t seen the new drawn-on, futuristic-looking eyebrows this season! This look was recently spotted on models at the Celine Spring-Summer 2014 runway show.

The interesting brows on the Celine catwalk are anything but natural. Here, they are drawn on thick in black and don’t follow the shape of your natural eyebrows. They appeared to be drawn on haphazardly with a thick dark pen. The result being that the models’ looks varied between being beautiful whilst simultaneously featuring random expressions from stern to surprised, amused and even zig-zag shapes. This latest beauty craze gives each and every wearer a completely unique look and can add a touch of personality to any outfit. Drawn-on brows are a great way to single yourself out from the crowd and be different.

Want to copy this trend? Keep in mind that this look can appear unsightly on women with blonde and fair hair whose brows are a very light shade to begin with. Opt for shades that are closer to your natural hair color for a more toned-down version. Also, try to draw your statement brows by following the natural shape and arch of your existing eyebrows to stay away from the dreaded clown-effect. Avoid replicating the catwalk look completely and instead aim to enhance the brows you were born with, using a pencil in a similar tone to your locks.
