3 ways to work the bandana trend

With summer finally here, it might be useful to learn how to style your hair with accessories this season. They will not only give your look a unique edge but will also help protect your locks and scalp from the sun. The bandana, which was all the rage during the 80s, is in comeback moment and has been spotted on the catwalk. Discover 3 ways to wear this retro accessory.
As a hair tie. This look was recently spotted on the House of Holland runway (pictured), where headbands were used as hair ties. When worn with a topknot, the bandana instantly creates a 90s feel, however you can also use this accessory tied around the bottom of a ponytail or plait. To do this, create your desired hairstyle, and secure as you would normally with a hair tie. Only when you’ve finished this part should you begin to tie your bandana. In one simple step, you have a completely unique look.
As a headband. This version is bound to be a hit with festival goers! August is generally the time when most music festivals kick off, so why not give your festival style a cool bohemian twist? Start by creating a centre parting, then straighten your locks for a sleek look. After straightening, tie your bandana into a headband, just below the roots. Secure by tying the ends into a knot at the nape of the neck.
As a classic folded triangle. Similar to the hairstyles you mom used to style you when you were in kindergarten, the folded bandana is once again a must-have look for summer. Leave your locks to flow loose and give them a wavy effect by spritzing sections with Beach Spray. Next, fold your bandana into a triangular shape on top of your head and tie neatly underneath your lengths. What better way to stay on-trend and protect your locks from the sun? We’re hooked!
