3 ways to wear a headscarf for a bohemian look

After a change this summer? There are ways of changing your style without having to go to your hairdresser’s. Simply accessorise your hair with a headscarf. Here are 3 styling ideas to try out with a headscarf for a bohemian effect.

Hippie chic. Throughout most of the 70s it was all about ultra-long, ultra-straight hair. And people were always adding a headscarf or headband for a hippie chic look! To get this style, you will need mid-length to long hair and a headscarf. Choose a scarf that suits the length of your hair. The choice of colours and patterns is entirely up to you. Style your hair, straight or curly, and place the folded headscarf on your forehead. Tie it to the side and leave your hair to intertwine with the scarf.

Dolce Vita. This style will work on any length hair as most of it will be hidden under the headscarf… Preferably go for just one colour for a touch of Italian chic. Place your scarf at the base of your forehead and keep it fairly wide so that it covers most of your head. Tie it once at the side, tightly to ensure it stays in place. Next, use the lengths of the headscarf to create a large bow, positioning it to the side, as seen at Temperley London.

Romantic bohemian. One of the biggest trends this season for a romantic look, the braid, is accessorised here using a headscarf. Again, choose your scarf to suit the length of your hair. Pull your hair back or create a simple centre parting, then place your scarf (folded so that it is fairly thin) in the middle of your head. Knot it at the nape of your neck. Next, start braiding your hair from this point, working the two strands of the scarf into the braid for an uber-sensual and tousled look.
