[Instahair] The big comeback of the bandana

Like the phoenix rising from the ashes, the bandana, which we thought had been long forgotten about in the twists and turns of the 80s, is making a big comeback on the heads of fashionistas... And it's more colourful than ever! Rock, hippy chic, retro... It's showing up on Instagram in all kinds of different shapes and styles.

A Hippy Chic Look

A pretty classic to try out on long or mid-length hair. Let your locks fall naturally, then fold your bandana into a rectangular shape and position it over your forehead before tying it at the back of your head. If you wish to enhance your hairstyle, work with your hair by putting in a light wavy effect to create more volume and, why not get some pretty highlights to reflect the light?

A Rock Chick Style

For this look, start by forming a half bun, positioning it on top of your head. Begin by putting your hair up in a high ponytail using a bungee hook (ideal for perfect hold). Take your ponytail and gradually wrap it around itself, fixing it with hairpins as you go. Once the half bun is in place, fold up the bandana and place it on your forehead (like the previous hairstyle) but tie it in a knot at the front. For a 100 % rock look, ideally opt for mid-length locks which fall down to your chin.

A Pin-up Look

Go for glamour with this fun on-trend hairstyle which evokes Betty Boop and 50s starlets. Start by putting your hair up in a ponytail. Preferably with a black or transparent elastic hair tie. Then, fold your bandana so that it is as wide as possible and tie it, positioning the tied part slightly above the hairline. Your work is done! Simple and quick. For more volume, create a slight wavy effect by using curling tongs .
