Curling you hair with straighteners

There’s no point buying all the curling tongs under the sun! A pair of straighteners can be used to create many different effects. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating perfect curls with your straighteners.

Before using your straighteners, apply a mousse to help your hair hold its shape. “You must apply mousse before using your straighteners to create curls. However, careful not to apply too much or your hair will end up looking stiff. A curl definer is also a good idea.”

Hair straighteners are the perfect tool for well-defined curls. “You just have to make sure you move quickly through your hair. Take sections at the roots or from the mid-lengths. Gradually work your way down the section of hair with the straighteners, twisting the hair around it and sliding the straighteners towards the ends. The same as you would with the ribbons you use to wrap presents! Pull and twist to create gorgeous curls.”

Straighteners are just as good at creating curls as curling tongs! “In Spain, hairdressers use straighteners to create almost any effect. However, the straighteners should not be too wide. The narrower the straighteners, the easier it is to create curls. However, the ends are less easy to curl with straighteners than with curling tongs.”

Our tip: Apply styling mousse if you want your curls to stay in place for a long time. For a more flexible result, a curl definer will do. Apply either product to wet hair for bouncy curls.
