Trainer in Paris
Discover more about Jean Louis David's backstage by getting to know our team of experts! Meet Aurea Sanchez-Coletto, trainer in Paris for Jean Louis David.
What are three adjectives you'd use to describe yourself?
Passionate, composed, and determined. As soon as I started with the salon I knew I wanted to work as a Jean Louis David trainer. That's been true for several years and I'm super excited to have reached my goal.
What's your professional background?
Hairstyling has been my passion ever since I was a little girl. Back then I used to invite my neighbours over just so I could cut their hair! Having started my career at Jean Louis David so early, you might say I'm a JLD baby (laughs). My first job with the brand was a three-month gig at one of its salons abroad. I then worked for 17 years at the Wagram location in Paris, which were very, very good years for me! For the past three years I have worked as a trainer at the Jean Louis David headquarters.
Your specialty hairstyle?
Today, and for the past several years, I'm mostly committed to improving technique.
What does the Jean Louis David universe represent to you?
This brand is extremely in vogue, which is why I never grow tired of it. New trends are created here every season. It's not just about hairstyling, it's about creating an overall style that's always at the peak of fashion.
An unforgettable salon moment?
I've had so many incredible moments working in the salon! If I had to pick one in particular, I'd say it was when I met Monsieur David. He's actually the one who hired me. I was only 18 and really blown away!
If you were... A hashtag?
#jeanlouisdavid, of course! Being a Jean Louis David baby, my life has been filled with highlights surrounding the brand and its universe.
A holiday destination?
Anywhere, as long as there's sun, sea, and beach! That's all I ask for. A short local getaway or a trip to the other side of the world, it all sounds good to me.
An accessory?
I'd have a hard time going anywhere without a scarf. They protect my sensitive neck and are at the same time timeless and elegant accessories. In the summer, I have fun by putting them in my hair for a different kind of look.
A rock icon? Bruce Springsteen. I used to dance to his hits back then and I still do! I love his retro look which is still in style today. He's a real trailblazer and inspiration.
