Veronica, 33: “Who said short hair wasn’t feminine?!”

Your look? Sober, chic and casual. I love the feminine look, but I don’t want to look stuck-up or preppy! So I tend to go for diaphanous pieces that enhance my shape without being figure-hugging. I must admit I spend a lot of time trying things on in the fitting room as I’m very particular about the shape and colour of the clothes I wear. I only choose simple, understated colours, but add brighter colours and prints with accessories.

Your hairstyle? It took me a long time to pluck up the courage to go short. I used to think that short hair was associated with the tomboy look, not at all feminine. So I had mid-length hair or a bob for a long time before I dared cut it any shorter. Then one day, after seeing the boy-cut on a colleague, I decided to go for it. I realised that it wasn’t these few extra centimetres that made her style so feminine. I went straight to the salon and, a few snips later, it was done. I haven’t looked back since!

Your look today? Despite what people think, short hair often needs as much upkeep and styling as long hair. The cut itself needs to be neat so that it doesn’t stand up all over the place. I use products that are suitable for my hair type to avoid weighing my hair down. I have also become addicted to styling products that allow me to try out different styles, even with short hair! Today I dried my hair shaping it with my fingers and then applied a styling wax to add texture and hold the style in place.
